1. About the Service
Dhairya GPT is a personal AI chat project operated by Dhairya ("we", "us"), based in India. It lets you chat with third-party AI language models. The Service is provided free of charge, for personal and educational use.
2. Who can use it
You must be 18 years or older and capable of entering into a legally binding contract under the Indian Contract Act, 1872. If you are under 18, you may use the Service only with the involvement of a parent or legal guardian. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children without verifiable parental consent, as required by the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
3. AI-generated content
- Responses are generated by an AI model and may be inaccurate, incomplete, outdated or biased.
- The Service does not provide medical, legal, financial or other professional advice. Verify important information with a qualified professional.
- You are responsible for how you use the output.
4. Acceptable use
In line with Rule 3(1)(b) of the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021, you agree not to use the Service to create, share or request content that:
- is unlawful, defamatory, obscene, pornographic, paedophilic, invasive of another's privacy, or hateful or harassing on grounds of religion, caste, gender, race or ethnicity;
- harms minors in any way, or threatens the unity, integrity, defence, security or sovereignty of India, friendly relations with foreign states, or public order;
- infringes any patent, trademark, copyright or other proprietary right;
- impersonates another person, or is knowingly false or misleading, including misinformation or deepfakes;
- contains malware, or is used to hack, spam, scrape, overload or disrupt the Service;
- violates any law in force in India, including the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023 and the Information Technology Act, 2000.
We may refuse requests, limit access or block users who break these rules, and may disclose information to authorities where the law requires it.
5. Your data and privacy
- Chat history is stored in your own browser (local storage). We do not keep a copy on our servers. Clearing your browser data or using "Delete all chats" removes it.
- Attached files are read in your browser, and their text is sent with your message to the AI provider in the same way. Do not upload files containing confidential or personal information.
- Your messages are sent through our server to third-party AI providers (such as NVIDIA, Groq, OpenRouter or Hugging Face) so that a reply can be generated. Do not share passwords, Aadhaar, PAN, bank or card details, health records or other sensitive personal data.
- We do not sell your personal data. We process only what is needed to run the Service, with your consent, in line with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
- You may withdraw consent, or ask for access, correction or erasure of any personal data we hold, by contacting us below.
- Hosting providers (such as Vercel) may keep standard technical logs such as IP address and request time.
5A. Fair use limits
Because the Service is free, each user is limited to a fixed number of messages per minute and per day, and the Service has an overall daily cap. Limits may change at any time. We use a one-way scrambled (hashed) version of your IP address, held only temporarily, for this purpose only: to count requests and prevent abuse.
6. Intellectual property
The Service's design, code and branding belong to us. You keep ownership of the prompts you write. Subject to applicable law and the terms of the underlying model, you may use the generated output for lawful purposes. AI output may resemble existing material, and you are responsible for checking it before use, including for copyright under the Copyright Act, 1957.
7. Third-party services
The Service depends on third parties (AI model providers such as NVIDIA, Groq, OpenRouter and Hugging Face, and Vercel for hosting). We do not control them and are not responsible for their availability, accuracy or terms. Their policies also apply to data they process.
7A. Advertising and the "Losing Focus?" panel
To help cover costs, the Service may show ads, including Google AdSense ads, which can use cookies as described in our Privacy Policy. We do not control advertisers and are not responsible for their products. The "Losing Focus?" button opens an optional panel with a gameplay video, embedded from YouTube and owned by its creator, and a small built-in game, both provided for entertainment only. We do not own or control the embedded video.
8. Availability
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". We may change, suspend or stop it, or change the AI model used, at any time without notice.
9. Disclaimer and limit of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by Indian law, we give no warranty of accuracy, reliability or fitness for a particular purpose, and we are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss arising from your use of the Service or reliance on AI output. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot be excluded under law, including your rights under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 where applicable.
10. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify us against claims, losses and expenses arising from your breach of these Terms or misuse of the Service.
11. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Subject to any rights you have under law, the courts of competent jurisdiction in India will have jurisdiction over any dispute. We encourage you to contact us first so we can try to resolve it informally.

13. Changes
We may update these Terms. The "last updated" date above will change, and continued use means you accept the new version.
