1. What we collect
- Your messages and attached files. When you send a message, its text (and the text of any file you attach) passes through Vercel's servers, where our code runs, to a third-party AI provider that generates a reply. We do not store it ourselves.
- Chat history, settings and consent. Saved only in your own browser (local storage) so the app can show your past chats, your theme, your custom instructions and your acceptance of our Terms. Clearing your browser data, or using "Delete all chats", removes them.
- IP address. Our code runs on servers provided by Vercel, which receive your IP address with every request. We turn it into a one-way scrambled code (a hash) and use that only to count requests for fair-use limits and abuse prevention. The counters are held temporarily in the memory of the server function and are discarded when it restarts or within about a day. We do not write your IP address to a database or file, and we do not pass it to the AI providers. Vercel, as our hosting provider, may keep its own standard technical logs.
- We do not ask you to create an account, and we do not collect your name, phone number or email address through the app.
2. How we use it
Only to provide the chat service, apply message limits, keep the service secure, and show ads that help cover running costs. We do not sell your personal data.
3. Third parties
- AI providers (for example NVIDIA, Groq, OpenRouter and Hugging Face) process your messages to produce replies. Their own policies apply to that processing.
- Vercel hosts the website and runs our server code on our behalf. It may keep standard technical logs (such as request time and technical details of the request) for a short period under its own policies.
- YouTube (Google). When a video is opened on this site (for example in the "Losing Focus?" panel), a YouTube video is loaded using the privacy-enhanced YouTube domain. YouTube may collect usage data and set cookies once the video plays. This only happens when a video is opened.
- Google AdSense may show ads. Google and its partners use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies lets it and its partners serve ads to you based on your visits here and on other sites. You can manage or opt out of personalised ads at adssettings.google.com or aboutads.info. Learn more at policies.google.com/technologies/ads.
3A. Cookie choices in Europe
If you visit from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, a consent message from Google's certified consent management platform may ask whether you allow cookies and personalised ads. You can accept, decline (if the option is shown) or manage your options. You can change your choice later using the privacy settings control shown on the page, or by clearing this site's cookies and storage in your browser. If you do not consent, you may still see ads, but they will not be personalised.
4. Please don't share sensitive data
Because messages go to third-party AI providers, do not enter passwords, Aadhaar, PAN, bank or card details, health records or other confidential information, in a message or in an attached file.
5. Children
Dhairya GPT is for people aged 18 or over. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has used the service, contact us and we will help.
6. Your rights
Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 you may ask for access to, correction of, or erasure of personal data we hold about you, withdraw consent, and raise a grievance. Because we keep almost nothing about you, most of this is under your control in your browser. For anything else, contact us below.
7. Retention and security
We keep no chat content ourselves. Rate-limit counters hold only a hashed code, not your raw IP address, and are short-lived. Our API keys are stored securely as server environment variables and are never sent to your browser. No online service is completely secure, so use the app with care.
8. Changes
We may update this policy and will change the date above. Continued use means you accept the update.
